At back to school night a couple weeks ago I passed friends in the halls, shared hugs and smiles and I was overwhelmed with God’s goodness.

As I reflect back on the past year I can see how God has knit us into the community He knew we would need. I am so grateful.

The term “community” has become a bit of a buzz word. What does it really mean to be in a good, healthy community?

Rick Warren, author of the Purpose Driven Life, says one of the building blocks of community is mutuality. “In fellowship that means we help each other grow. Together we’re stronger. You cannot be what God wants you to be without other people. Romans 1:12 says, ‘I want us to help each other with the faith we have. Your faith will help me and my faith will help you.’” This includes mutual accountability, mutual encouragement and mutual honoring.

We were not meant to do this life alone. We need people around us to love us, support us, challenge us and encourage us.

Do not go this life alone. Find your tribe and love them hard. I’m thankful for this group of ladies – the crazy community that suits me well!
