I’m bursting at the seams to share some exciting news. Maybe you’ve already heard although we’ve been unusually quiet about this piece of our lives as we’ve been taking the steps we felt we needed to take to let people know who need to know (you know, like bosses). Well, let me dispel the rumors. This lifelong, third generation California family is moving. WHAT???? God has been calling us all year to go BIG. Be BOLD. Be STRONG and COURAGEOUS.

Maybe some of you saw this video from November: November 4th live video

This Pleasanton family has been given a dream – a crazy, get-uncomfortable, trust-in-the Lord kind of dream and we are going for it. God told us to GO BIG. What’s bigger than TEXAS?

Yep! You heard it right. Texas! Longhorns, country roads, cowboy boots and Friday night lights.

Are we nervous, scared, anxious? We’d be lying if we said we aren’t or haven’t been at some point along the way. It’s the unknown. Derek and I were both born and raised in Pleasanton and have literally never had another permanent address. But more than that we are excited, expectant, giddy and READY!

If you’d have asked us even as recently as a year ago if we’d consider moving from our hometown we’d certainly have told you NO. We were raised here. My whole family is here. My in-laws are only an hour away. Our best friends are here. Derek has a fantastic job. This is our town. This is our life. We are “comfortable.”

Ahh, don’t ever say that out loud. God may just call you out and tell you it’s time to get a little uncomfortable.

Let me just say, this is 100% a journey of faith.  God is calling us to get a little (OK, a lot) uncomfortable. He’s stretching us. He’s stirring inside. He’s pushing. But in every uncomfortable step He’s reminding us that He is out front leading. And that is enough. Even when we only know the very next step to take, we have learned over the past nine months to take that step. It has been a journey of saying “God, open doors or close doors. Make it clear.” I can’t tell you how many times we have said those very words. And He has been faithful. In fact, He has been very, very clear.

I am so excited to share this journey with all of you. There are so many stories. So many words of encouragement. So many testimonies. And I know this is just the beginning for this California family with a Texas-sized dream.

I hope you will come along for the ride!
