I have been married to my husband Derek since 1996. We met in high school when we were 14 and 15 years old. We started dating after graduation and we essentially “grew up” together. We dated long distance for seven years as we both pursued higher education and we were finally married when we were both once again living back in our hometown.
We have three boys, including twins David and Daniel, and John, our youngest. Like us, our boys have grown up playing sports. After trying many early on, they have all started to settle into the ones they love best. Currently we are a soccer, football and rugby family. In some seasons this means practices every night of the week and games all weekend. Derek has coached at least one of the boys’ teams every season since they first started playing sports. So we are a crazy busy sports family, but it’s what we love to do. I love to watch my boys in action and I appreciate the commitment my husband makes to his teams as he coaches, encourages and pours into the young men’s lives, including our own young men.
We both work in and are very active in our community from church, to civic groups to sports organizations. We’re proud to continue to live in our hometown and we are grateful to raise our family here and to be part of a great community surrounded by our family and friends.
